Vickie - Co-Founder

As one half of the founders of Empower Reformer Pilates, I’ve always had a deep passion for movement and wellbeing. From running marathons to taking on Hyrox, fitness has always been part of who I am. I’ve practiced yoga for over 15 years which has shaped not only my physical strength but also my approach to teaching.

When I discovered Reformer Pilates, I instantly knew it was something I wanted to share with others. The balance of controlled strength, precision, and mindful movement felt like the perfect blend of everything I love about exercise. That passion led to the creation of Empower! A welcoming space where our community can challenge themselves, build strength, and feel truly empowered.

And the best bit I get to do it with my Bestie Jane!

I’m also the owner of The Hair and Beauty Retreat, situated just below the studio, where wellness and self-care meet beauty and relaxation. Now, I get to balance two careers I adore running both businesses while being a proud mum of two, and making sure exercise remains a non-negotiable part of my life.

In my classes, you can expect a dynamic mix of strength, flow, and focus. I draw on my yoga background to create sessions that challenge both body and mind, helping you move better, feel stronger, and leave each class empowered.

Jane – Co-Founder

Empower was born from a leap of faith I took with my best friend from school, Vickie - without a doubt, the best decision I’ve ever made. It turns out that if you jump, sometimes you land somewhere you truly love.

After 21 years in the corporate world as a Director, I was tired of sitting at a desk and staring at a screen. Movement has always been what feeds my soul - whether it was body pump, body combat, spin, running, Hyrox, weight training, or Pilates. But after having my two beautiful boys (now 10 and 14) and discovering I had diastasis recti, I went on a mission to heal myself without surgery.

That’s when Pilates became my answer. While mat Pilates and yoga never quite clicked for me, reformer instantly did. From my very first class, I was hooked. The more I experienced, the more I knew I wanted to dive deeper - which led me to complete my instructor training.

Now, nothing brings me more joy than being in our studio - working alongside incredible people, seeing clients discover their own strength, and watching their progress unfold.

In my classes, you can expect to work hard, leave with shaky legs, and walk out with a deep sense of inner peace.

Katy - Reformer Pilates Instructor

I’ve spent over 20 years working in the beauty industry, helping people feel confident and cared for. My passion for making others feel good naturally led me into the world of fitness, where I discovered my absolute love for Reformer Pilates. As a busy mum of three, I know how important it is to carve out time for yourself - to feel strong, energised, and connected.

I have a huge passion for everything fitness and I’m hugely dedicated to both my own and others’ health and wellbeing. In my classes, you can expect to be challenged, uplifted, and to leave feeling ready to take on the world. I bring the same dedication and nurturing approach from my beauty background, creating a welcoming space where you can focus on you.

Fitness, and especially Reformer Pilates, has completely transformed how I feel inside and out, and I’m committed to helping others experience the same.

Jemma - Reformer Pilates Instructor

I’ve been a Personal Trainer for over 14 years and have always loved being active — whether that’s playing sports, training in the gym, or just finding any excuse to move my body. Helping others discover the same love for movement and seeing them feel stronger and more confident is what keeps me so passionate about what I do.

I first tried Reformer Pilates when I realised I needed to add more stretching and mobility into my own workouts… and honestly, I didn’t expect to fall in love with it as much as I did! It’s such a different way of training - strong and challenging, but controlled and low-ompact. I love how it makes you slow down, focus, and really connect with your body.

One of my favourite things about a Reformer class is how it makes you switch off from the outside world. For 45 minutes, it’s just you, the reformer, and your breath. You walk out feeling lighter, happier, and yes - maybe with a bit of a leg wobble!

I can’t wait to welcome you into the studio for a class that’ll leave you feeling stronger, challenged, and uplifted.

Melissa - Reformer Pilates Instructor

I’ve always had a passion for movement and helping people feel good in their bodies. I studied Musical Theatre at college and then went on to train in Dance for three years, achieving my teaching qualification under the UKA exam board. For the past 15 years, I’ve taught both children and adults across a variety of styles including ballet, tap, street, cheer, and commercial — from toddler time sessions to hen parties!

My love for movement naturally led me to Pilates.

I’m drawn to the way it strengthens both body and mind — I always say my favourite thing about Reformer Pilates is the mental escape for 45 minutes.

Alongside teaching, I also work for the NHS as a Radiology Assistant, which gives me a deeper understanding of anatomy and wellbeing.

I truly believe that movement is medicine, and my goal in every class is to help people feel stronger, more confident, and connected. I’m a people

person at heart, and I love creating a supportive, uplifting space where everyone can enjoy moving and discover what their body can do.
